There are many obscure areas of Harn and Ivinia where no mapmakers have gone before. I have talked with John about this and I am going to make maps of grid squares on the Harn map and the Ivinia map. The idea is that I will make maps of areas where it is very unlikely that CGI will ever make maps. I enclose a small version of a map of gridsquare J10 that will appear on Lythia.com soon. Comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi Ogier,

that's a really nice idea! Now we'll get that misty island fully covered...

Excellent idea. I'd love to see some of the wilderness areas covered this way. It will be some time before CGI gets around to covering even all the "core" settled areas, let alone the more remote locations.

Cool.
Minor error: there is a slightly offset hex in the upper left corner making it look "bold-faced".

Thank you :D .

I have sent a new version to Leitchy that fixes the error. I expect it should be up in not so long.

Here is my first attempt at an Ivinian map. KP are planning an Ivinian module in the future so I am not going to make a lot of maps from Ivinia. But I simply can't resist making contour lines for 5000 feet high mountains rising out of the sea so one more is certain.
As usual I will post the map at Lythia.com.

My next map is going to be from Harn.

Would really like to see a map done for the area around Ygesdram in Menglana - if you are after ideas of where to go next ;)

ogier - your maps are great.

Can you add some tags to ogier's maps that link them together at website? F.e. Fanon Atlas.

To quote one of my favorite literary characters, "I do love maps!" :D

My only comment of any real substance is...keep 'em coming! =D>

Now concerning preferences...I'd love to see all of Harn mapped out. Call me a fool for details, but I appreciate having places already charted out for the odd chance that a player may decide to trek to some soggy corner of Harn where no knight has trod before...or unceremoniously dumped there by an irrate air slyph.

I present to you H10 with the island of Gyzem and the Earthmaster site of Ridow. Ridow presented lots of special problems:

1) It's huge. With a diameter of 1/4 league (1 km) it is clearly visible on the map. So I made a special symbol for it. Harndex describes Ridow as a spoked wheel. So a full size spoked wheel it is .

2) The tunnel from the entrance Archway is described as beeing approximately 2 leagues long. The entrance is on the southern shore of the bay. But what bay ? The lagoon or the body of water off the southern coast of Gyzem. It's impossible to make a 2 league tunnel from the southern shore of the lagoon even when we account for the slope of the tunnel. But it is possible to make a 1,5 league tunnel. And the south coast of has so little curvature that it doesn't seen much like a bay. An why use the words "south coast of the bay" if there wasn't a north coast too. If someone can convince otherwise I will gladly make a new version of the map with The Archway located on the southwestern coast of Gyzem.

3) Another "fact" I have deduced from the description is that the dome is unlikely in the shape of a cut off sphere. It would then have to be at least 500 meters high and the city would be lost in darkness on the bottom of a deep ocean trench. The description of Ridow states that one is able to observe maritime life from it. With a dome of this size the only place that would be possible would be at the top of a tower the size of a skyscraper. I believe the dome has a gentler shape. Perhaps it is 100 or 200 meters high.

As usual I will post the map on Lythia.com.

Unlikely to be a perfect hemisphere, that is half of a sphere with a radius of 500m. However, if the section of the sphere that domes the city is cut from a sphere that would have a radius of 2500m, would have a height of only 50m, so if the floor is 100m below low tide, then the dome would be 50m below low tide.

I expressed myself poorly  . I meant a perfect hemisphere (wich also is a cut off sphere  ). Otherwise I think your reasoning is good.

I anyone has any doubts as to where the entrance to Ridow should be located please tell me so. :?:

Making maps of Ivinia takes time but finally it is here. Below you will find Ivinia H4. I will post it at Lythia.com as usual. The map covers Utherlund the thranaal of clan Uthersen, the enemies of clan Durgum. The ruin Magranby you will find in the Kigesfjord refers to the legend of Idjar Redlaar mentioned in the Menglana module.

I'm not sure if it's my interest in Nordic stuff, the fact that we're currently runnin an Orabaalese-Ivinian campaign or maybe all of the above. But you cranking out these maps (great quality, nice detail and selection of locales) is just making me feel like a kid at Christmas. :-)

Is there any chance of you doing the grid square for Malmor and environs up in the NE of Ivinia? Or are you just doing whatever strikes your fancy? I'm happy to see them either way...map junkie that I am.
