Hi all...

Quick question to those who are more pc savey than I. My character Tool vs 3.1 quit working, no reason that I can see. I was using it a few weeks ago and today I tried to open it to make a few npc's. Nothing happened. It won't open. Any ideas?

Reboot. Try again. Seriously, sometimes that's all it takes, but I think that's what you've already done.

Taking a backup of your character files and then reinstalling the program is also one usual trick.

You might want to tell a bit more about your setup and if you've changed anything during these few weeks. PMing Mikael Hegardt is also probably a good idea, because he's the author of the program (isn't he?).

Gothmog - this is probably a result of an Java update. Check out the supportpages on http://www.ivinia.se (relevant article repeated below:
Quote:
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: My application recently (april 2010) stopped working
A: After the latest Java upgrade (Version 6 build 1.6.0_20-b02) a plugin required for Character Tool 3 stopped working properly, causing problems when opening the application - it will fail almost right away, and then quit. Download the latest plugin from http://www.ivinia.se/download/360Works_ScriptMaster_latest.zip, and replace the file “360Works_ScriptMaster.fmx” with the new file.

If this doesn't work, contact me by email or post in this thread (or both to be on the safe side).

/Mikael

Where is the old file located? I down loaded the update, but I can't find the old 36oWorks... :?

Good question - I will update the homepage to be a tad more detailed :-)

While awaiting this massive information overload on my webpage - look in the Extensions folder in your Character Tool folder, where you should be able to find the old file.

Best regards /Mikael

That last bit of info helped. Found the file, replaced it and now all is well! :D
Thanks Mikael!
