Aha! You see, I use the self-same thing; every time I come back to the forum, I click "View new posts" and voila! Everything that's been posted since I last accessed the site. And once I've finished perusing all the threads I'm interested in, I go back to the index page by clicking on the Lythia.com shield logo, and click "Mark forums read".

And I don't have to log in each time I come to the site, which is usually once or twice a day.

I think the difference is I don't usually close the tab where the HF is. It's basically up in that window all the time.

Looks like six of one, half-dozen of another.
