A Brief 26yr Hiatus

#1 Post by 9ofSwords » Mon Jun 12, 2017 7:26 am

Hi all,
In 1988, I was in high school. It was then that I purchased Castles of Harn, my first Harn publication. Over the next few years I would purchase most of the 1st Edition publications, and moved from D&D to Harn. Now, I've not actively played RPG games since 1991.

Some months ago I was faced with the prospect of cleaning out my childhood bedroom. After all these years, it was still storage for two shelves full of RPG books. D&D, and all the rest, I gave away, but Harn I've kept. I've been very much immersed in it since, though not participating directly in this vibrant community that still calls Kethira its home away from the everyday world. I hope to remedy that in the months to come.

Thanks for having me.

Harn is unique - it has always felt like a home one has never actually been to. Thus when rediscovered, still feels the same. Wish you the joy of the rediscovery! 8)

Welcome home. You've doubtless seen the high quality fanon here which fits seamlessly (it should, it's the same authors), so just welcome back.

Thanks all for the welcome.

MDMann, indeed I've downloaded much of the material available on Lythia.com.
It's very much the reason I'm here. I hope to make my own contributions.

As for this forum, it's already been an invaluable resource for me,
especially for detailed discussions of everyday life and crafts of the Middle Ages.
I'm already plumbing the depths of that knowledge with my first (real) post:
Who inherits indebtedness to a usurer?

Best wishes
