But I was first introduced to HarnMaster in 1989. Mostly I tend to lurk in the forums and dig through the archives before asking questions, but occasionally I'll blurt something out without doing any research first.

I'm reasonably near the Atlanta area, and I suspect I'm getting old since I don't have the time for regular gaming, or the energy for all-night gaming sessions anymore.

Hi, guys! :D

I've been in that same situation for a few years. I don't have the time or energy for regular gaming, and meeting once every 4-6 weeks or more isn't conducive for keeping a group going. And even if I did, 4-6 hours would be about the max I'd be willing to try in a session. Oh well, I can still do an hour a week of messing with my various campaign worlds and characters, and that's enough for now. If I only had the energy of my youth to go with the hard-earned wisdom.....

And welcome to the forum.

I'm in the fortunate position that my friends are all active gamers and there's a game at least once a fortnight (used to be twice a week, but age doth gallop up on one). My Harn campaign is subject to a few conditions, like being held at my place, and everybody with characters being present. Having a player who is a doctor (on-call paediatrician) a lot doesn't make that easy. But we manage to get together often enough that everyopne remembers where we're up to in the game.

So yes, we're all getting older, but some of us are lucky enough to have players who have been keen on Harn for the past 25 years. :)

Thanks, guys! :D

It's nice to be made so welcome.

My latest in-between-games project is completely developing Laranianism and Agrikanism for my pHarn, with a special focus on just how heretical the Harnic churches have gotten, what the continental church is likely to do when they find out, and figuring out just how badly that's going to destabilize, well, everything. I've just about got a novel half-written. Unfortunately, the pet name for this "novel" (and I use that word very loosely) has become "In Search Of A Plot". Eventually if I ever get it reasonably coherent I may post it somewhere and let y'all rip it apart.

I would love to see your novel someday, or talk about the subject elsewhere on the forum. I have vague plans for an Azeryani-led Agrikian reform starting in Melderyn in my campaign timeline. I don't plan for it to get very far, and haven't even begun to think out all the possible ramifications, so most anything you've done would be happily used.

Welcome, Strega!

I'm not sure if you are familiar with it, but the work of the Harn Religion Team (HRT) can be found linked off of lythia.com. It has tons of good stuff on the various gods of Harn.

And yes, I'm old, too, but I still have a gaming group at least!
