I'll PM you and Mel with an email address - I have a nagging suspicion I gave Mel the wrong one on Sunday. Then we can discuss the possibility of a 'North and South Con' where Andy, Neil and I can play Ecstacy and Agony.

And in an obvious attempt to hide their identities, Anders is sitting next to Anders.

Meanwhile, Rob is failing to stick a thumb in Mel's eye. While Mel's grin makes me wonder what, exactly, he's doing to Peter.

If they had two of those wigs they'd look identical.

Is Mikael really that much taller than me? I mean, I know that he's a big lad, but really!

Wig? Has Anders B been wearing a wig all these years? I hadn't noticed.

Oddgeir also should win this year's award for most travel, having attended both HarnCon and LythiaCon. A rare achievement, to be sure.

'The Andy Gibson Memorial Pize for attending two Harn Cons in one year'. ???

Jeez, I didn't get an award for attending two cons in one year, both out of my country. Who do I complain to? New Zealand in January, 2011 and Canada in August, 2011.

Oh well.

Thanks to all of you for making my grandson welcome. We both had a great time.

Great job organizing it, Mikael! Good food, good weather, good group of GMs and players.

And thanks also to my very understanding wife.

Lawrence

I'll give you the prize Lawrence...the Skald prize for attending two Harncons in 2011 in in the most geographically disparate of countries. I apologize if others fit the criterion...but he who shouts first.....

Great pics, Ken!

Well, that was one hell of a Con. On the sunday dinner, we discussed about the venue for next year and we agreed to try to do it in SW France, more specifically in the Pays Basque. (Sorry for the late posting, I've had a rough, indeed very rough return to work)

The Basque coast is a very touristic area in France, and obviously the month of August- in which we traditionally hold the Cons - is peak season. This is not to say that the date will be moved, since by experience the first fortnight of August is the time period when most of us are available, but I'm going to look into venue and accommodations by the turn of this year, and propose something on this forum by February. The catch is that since hotels don't have any problems to fill up in August (usually - though the crisis could work to our advantage), once I propose something and if everyone finds the venue and price agreeable, we will have to commit - that is give a downpayment to secure the bookings - by March/April at the latest.

I'll post more info later, but this is the gist of what is in plan for next year.

Cheers,

Christophe

Roland,

Any progress?? If it was at all possible for people to make it, I'd like to avoid the August season and try for mid- to late-July (following on from HanCon 10th anniversary in Vancouver).

Would this (a) be acceptable to the greatest number of people, and (b) be cheaper and less awful than August usually is (or so I've heard)?

Last week of July/First week of August would be best for me (term finishes about 20 July) but I'd want to do as much as possible to facilitate those coming a long way - such as our esteemed forum-master.

Hello Gents and Best Wishes 2013 to all of you,

Roland de Ronceveaux wrote:

Apologies for this, but I will not be able to organise the Con this year, or indeed any other in the foreseeable future. My professional year in 2012 has been very tough, and 2013 looks like it will be as well, so I need to devote all my energies on that front. So far, I still have a job and I'd like to keep it that way... :-|

So I am handing (insofar has I had ever taken them) the reins back to Mikael for the organisation of the European part of the Harnic Con, which I already know I won't be able to attend either. In fact, this is an unofficial goodbye, at least for a while, to my Harnic activities and presence on this board. It is probably not definitive, as I still have interest in the setting and the game, but for the moment I don't have the possibility to devote any time or energy on it.

Best Regards to you all,

Christophe/Roland de Ronceveaux
