While looking for interesting fantasy artwork for the campaign I stumbled across the works of Henning Ludvigsen. Many of the works have a harnic feel to them.

In particuliar, I'm looking to introduce some renegade shek pvar into the campaign based on the link below, then look for:

"The calm before the storm.".

While I have some ideas, it's always nice to hear other GMs / harnics ideas on why they made the list of renegades, interesting ideas for thier backgrounds, personalities, convocations, etc.

I made up a list of Renegades for an andventure I ran in Tashal some years ago. I'll attach it for your info.

Not long ago we had a group of Jmorvi declare some of the PCs renegade to force them to turn over some stolen magic items (the PCs recovered from the thieves). At one point the PCs were getting their members (some of whom were off-plane or elf mages) promoted to Viran so they could declare the Jmorvi renegade back again for endangering the Shek-P'var by using the system for petty political purposes.

I'd think renegades are screwed unless they either keep moving constantly or have (or are) a Savoryan to keep them from getting located. Getting off the island, off the plane, or so far into the wilderness that no one hears of them or would want to go through the trouble to reach them helps. Faking your death works well - few will think to continue chasing you after you are thought to be dead.

Then there are the few who are so powerful no one dares to tangle with them.

Speaking of Renegades too tough to tangle with don't forget:

Dyalne Dulye
Nideri the necromancer (though he may be dead)

both from canon

Take a look at FFF4 the Pelahn shek Pvar Tobas is listed as a member of the White Hand - in the Pharn where that character was developed, he became a member of the white hand after being declared renegade twice - got out of it once by skilled rhetoric and convincing the Savoryan (who rolled a CF) that he was innocent. The second time he was declared renegade to motivate him to complete a mission - got out of it by retrieving an earthmaster artifact and "relocating" the previous owners to yashain. He might be a good double agent for you, given his history, or it could be time for him to get declared renegade again.

FFF8 also has a renegade shek pvar, savoryan, that might be of use - developed her from an older npc - could give you some ideas.

Hope this helps,
John

An example of a non-Harn Shek-Pvar renegade can be found in Katherine Kurtz's Camberian novels. A member of the Camberian Council (An Eleven Kingdom version of the CoE) secretly took the place of a key advisor (presumably killed) of the evil King of Torenth, obviously using illusion to hide who he was. This renegade was able to help the good King Kelson of Gwynedd.
