I've been using Harn for the past year. I also played in several other games using the Harn world.

With my own game, and the games I played in used the d20 system or the AD&D as it was known back when Harn was first released (yes, I'm that old).

Was it really AD&D when Harn was released? I am sure I was still playing plain D&D at the time...

Greetings and welcome corith. Don't feel bad about the age thing, most of all do remember the original Harnic maps.

You probably *were* still playing D&D; first published in 1974, it was revamped and re-released in 1977 alongside the supposedly "more structured" AD&D. I picked AD&D up in 1978, Encyclopedia Hârnica was first published in 1983 (I found it in 1984).

Ok, ok, truth be told. I started playing in 1975 - with white books: Men & Magic, Monsters & Treasure, Underworld & Wilderness Adventures.

That reminds me: I was playing Tunnels and Trolls in the 70s.

I was curious about the hobby and rang a ... place (don't remember where after all these years). The guy on the phone said I should try AD&D 'cause it was more popular than Tunnels & Trolls. Hence I have never even seen the game...but I own every AD&D book there ever was.
