A long time ago, a fellow on the forum was producing his own world. Very much like Harn in feel with a rich history etc. One adventure was produced and it had its own forum page for the players.
I can't remember the name of the setting and my computer crashed with the material stored on it.
If any one can help with a link if still available that would be great.
The reason is I want to play around with The Burning Wheel, and thought this might be a good setting.

I don't recall it, I'm afraid.

However, BW is pretty setting-flexible. For more detailed settings, a few tweaks and adjustments are needed if fidelity to the setting is desired, (which is why I created The Burning Harn pages at http://www.burning-harn.net), but it's easy enough to take almost any quasi-medieval setting and use BW.

A fellow Aussie, Ian Plumber (??...working from memory here...) was developing an in-depth RPG world; Earth at the time of the Avignon Papacy (1309 to 1376), with some twists and twiddles as I understand it. from what I remember, it had fantastic elements but really subtle and in the background. It was meant to be a political thriller kind of place, much like the KSC only nastier. :)

I need to be at home to find out more; I was one of his proof-readers so I probably have some of the material on my HDD somewhere. I won't be able to release it though because I don't have permission; it wasn't intended to be free. It's been a long time since I've heard anything, though.

Will post an update in another 10 hours or so...

Thanks, that sounds interesting, Peter.
I thought about using your Burning Wheel Harn material but I will have to put it to the players.

Of course! If you do, please give any feedback you have!

He is the fella who runs the Tros Forum I was posting about recently concerning the successor to TRoS called Blade.
But he is not the person I was thinging about.
This person had a fully detailed up setting very similar to harn with one little adventure. Think it started with V ? The gaming group had there own forum.

I got the name, after many google searches, the site was called ' Song of the North'. But I can't find the actual content.

Does anybody have this material, is the designer still around?

Guy I was thinking about is Ian Plumb. He and a couple of others started a game company called Griffin Grove Gaming. They were intending to produce a place called Lyon (yes, set in Lyon in medieval France). They used a few resources from this forum, including Richard Luschek and Chris Golden, to produce stuff but I only have one location type article, an abbey.

Looks to me they're out of that business now, as Griffin Grove Gaming's website is now dedicated to selling miniatures online.

I suspect it's a dead end, Allan. Sorry.

Thanks Peter,
Yes thats the guy who manages the TRoS forum site and we are all waiting for the new Blade.
He seems to have no gaming available.
Anything in your archives for the Song of the North?
