Hollis Renewal Center (site of the 2009 Harncon and located in Kansas City, KS) is hosting its third annual Harnmoot on Memorial Day weekend (May 25 - 27), Friday evening to Sunday morning. Sessions are detailed below and may be adjusted due to time and player limits. Let me know if you would like to attend. There is a nominal $5/session cost, to cover space rental. There is limited but affordable housing available at the retreat center. Friday Night: Kaldor in Crisis, a block board game simulating the Kaldor succession crisis through diplomacy and eventual civil war; game design and host: Dave Mareske Saturday Morning:Cult of the Demon Bear; The Abbot of Halaina has dispatched a team (the PCs) to investigate reports of hauntings at one of the mining camps along the Darl River. To get there, they must venture deep into the mysterious Valdrun Forest, home to Foulspawn, savage Pagaelin, and -- so it is said -- the Valdrun Witch. GM: Rob Barnes Saturday Afternoon:Eder's Cauldron; Lord Tamas Ursanore, Kandain nobility, a veteran of Ezar's War and the epitome of chivalry, is dying of a wasting disease. His retinue have come together to comfort Lord Ursanore, only to be brought into the mysterious deaths of noble men of Aleath. What dark secrets drive these untimely and tragic losses? Will Lord Tamas and his fellows unravel the mythology driving the madman perpetrating the crimes? Can they stop him before he unleashes unimaginable chaos upon all of Kelestia? GM: Patrick McDonald Saturday Evening: Down with the Ship; The Blue Fin has a specialized sailing crew, used to missions of the unusual nature, but no amount of training or years of work for the Gentle White Hand has prepared them for the extraction from Pirate's Cove. GM: Dave Mareske Sunday Morning: Scuffle on the Silver Way;This won't be your typical miniature battle but one with a plot and a storyline. What happens when Taelda, Gargun, Knights and the working class have to defend their particular interests. PCs will beat the snot out of each other (in an entirely authentic Harn setting). Huzzah! GM: Peter Veenstra
