Friends, Foes & Followers is a GM resource that uses a common format for presenting 2 pages of information about a character. The characters can be used in any way the GM sees fit; as NPC opponents, helpers or even emergency PCs for that unexpected player, making these resources no GM should be without.
This issue includes an under-strength company of mercenaries, Wulfric’s Raiders. These 12 characters may be encountered together on their ship, Lightning, on the Thard River, but most have adventure hooks that might lead them to be encountered elsewhere. The characters include:
- A retired Laranian man-at-arms
- A mercenary MF who is more of a lover and mercantyler than a fighter
- An amoral mercenary MF who grew up poor and hungry
- A Viking clansman who is stepping into his dead brother’s shoes
- An experienced huscarl who is the captain of the company
- A veteran seaman and huscarl who is the sergeant of the company
- A Kuboran hunter, gladiator and now mercenary
- A Kuboran hunter who picked up unusual loot
- A Menglanan pilot who is also an archer and paymaster
- A shipwright who built the ship and is now the chippy
- A former fisherman, then thief, now the eyes and ears of the company
- A partially trained herald who threw it all away for a woman
Also included is “A Company of Adventurers” detailing Wulfric’s Raiders.
