Travel can serve multiple purposes; it can take characters from one location to the next as part of an adventure or quest, or it can represent an adventure in itself, with PCs travelling the world of Kèthîra to discover and explore new places. Travel can also be a component of trade, where PCs venture to procure or sell goods in other locations. Travel also means encountering strange new places, people, and situations that could be benign or malign.
Travel & Encounters is a gorgeous 30-page game aide that suggests simplified rules for travel, either using maps or using a narrative/cinematic travel system. It provides details on specific terrains and environments, with movement rates, descriptions and tables to make the environments come alive, plus random events and encounters. The article also includes ideas for unique NPCs in each environment, and is ready for the GM to use.
