This article is for people who don’t want to spend lots of time in large battles by simplifying it and using General Armor Class (GAC) from CGI’s Battlelust rules. The game can be played on a chess board to help visualize the battle. Large battles can use two chess boards side by side. The battle normally starts with opponents entering from the opposite sides of the board, but there’s no reason one side couldn’t use a different edge if flanking the enemy. Using a chess board is entirely optional and tokens or markers could be placed on a hex map or just the tabletop if desired.
