Kathane is the first or last stop between Trobridge and Kaldor. The Salt Route runs right through the center of town, and remote Kathane boasts a fairly high level of luxury and wealth. During the caravan season, the manor’s economy gets a huge boost from the merchants and guards passing through. Most are happy to sell goods in Kathane to save on the higher bonding and hawking fees in Tashal.
The lands of Kathane are quite fertile and it is a very productive village, trading aside. It is a relatively new village, having been started in670TR after the destruction of nearby Hargeth village a century earlier. Many of the villagers have moved to Kathane within the last two or three generations. Maintenance of land is always an important activity for the growing village.
