Real-Time: 06/19/98 Game #2
30 Nuzyel : 2nd Watch (4am to 8am)
After revelry at dawn, the cohorts were lined up before the reviewing stand. There, an officer informed them that they would be moving out first thing the following morning. They thus had a day to themselves to prepare for the journey. Visitors would be allowed into the Verus Keep.
30 Nuzyel : 3rd Watch (8am to Noon)
Corneilus made money by selling rumors, and taking bets as to their destinations and orders on the morrow.
Fenelisa discovered someone had packed the legion's rations in weakened bags and that there was no salt in the kit. With Caius's help she learned the following information:
- Supposedly at least one cohort is going to Fobin. Bandits and Gargun oh my! Fobin is an incomplete keep (which means double the normal number of men on guard.) ?Smugglers? in the area, perhaps in the Thard. near Fobin -> night watch.
- Hedior is 2 forts in one. There are mysterious disappearances in Cestor.
- The Nordaka clan wants 2 maniples to clear trees in the summer through man free forests.
- Taztos gets the losers.
- Keep at Themsin manned by Agrikan knights. No one knows much of what happened to the people who work the land. And the knights are very territorial.
Caius wheels and deals making some money on salt (through a salt merchant in town, and his father - Thor) and meets Nicola of Wytel. Nicola refuses to admit he's a thief - but to call him out of the officer's barracks Thor just bellowed "Hey Thief!". They told Nicola about the weakened bags.
30 Nuzyel : 4th Watch (Noon to 4pm)
Caius picked Phillipus of Coranan as their Mani (he drinks when there's nothing else to do -- but he has brought men back alive from Taztos.)
Nicola dumped something into the mani's salt - turning it into a foul smelling lump. Fenelisa confronts the salt seller and tags along with Caius to gain information. Between the two of them they sell the salt that Thor bought in their name, and then divvy up the money.
30 Nuzyel : 5th Watch (4pm to 8pm)
The quartermasters are put to work re-bagging all the rations to be taken on the trip tomorrow.
The mani are banging on another quartermaster's door trying to get their money back for the salt they purchased (and is now a smelly lump they dare not use.)
Everyone turns in early as tomorrow will be a long day.
