History:
Cargath of Záyírà, a stonemason in the late 600s, is renowned for his self-styled travel adventures. His finest craftsmanship, according to his often copied writings, were a series of rings made from a variety of stones not normally used for jewelry. He was said to have carved and given the Peonian Church in Coranan some 300 sand-stone rings.
The legend goes that, as they were given to the head priestess in a busy time, her assistant absently placed them on the alter, were they were forgotten overnight. In the morning, once found, each ring had lost its porous appearance and now appeared slick and strong.
For a time anyone working with animals was given one of these rings upon their apprenticeship into their craft. But while the rings are suppose to make it easier to communicate with animals, those who apprentice with the rings tend not to use them later in life for a variety of reasons, most of which appear to be based on a personal preference.

Power:
Once the ring is attuned to its wearer - it grants a familiarity with one breed of animal (player's choice). Usually the breed is one that the PC spends a great deal of time with throughout the course of their lives. The familiarity allows the PC +5 to any animal-related skill when dealing with that breed. If the PC has no skill, treat it as a bonus to awareness when dealing with that breed's actions.
The ring has a Weapon Quality of 10. It is easily damaged and broken.
