Arth (M:34) was born on 12 Navek (Masara), 684, in Orbaal. He is a nobleman. He was the 2nd eldest of 5. He is unpopular with his parents in part because of the amount of trouble he and Jarian got into as children, but also in part for telling tall tales of illcit acts. While the initial events were most likely true, his expansion on the tales tended to cause more trouble than the acts themselves. His mother deserted the family when he was 8. His older sister took over the child-rearing duties.

Arth's father, a drunkard, beat everyone liberally until Arth turned 12 and broke the man's jaw. The clanhead is his uncle. His father was a viking/farmer as was his mother. Arth's sister now runs the household, with their father trying to stay away as long as possible. Arth was kicked out at 16, and joined Jarian in his travels. He assumes his sister will welcome him back now that he's much bigger and stronger than she.

Arth has an incredible opinion of himself, and refuses to listen to anyone eles except Jarian. He considers himself second in command of their little band, especially when Cumesant is drunk (which is fairly often). Few are willing to waste the breath in arguing a point held so ferverently.

He stands 70" and weighs 194.4 lbs. with a massive frame. He has a medium complexion, brown hair worn moderate in length straight, and blue eyes. Arth is of corruptible morality. He is deeply in love with Pistus, and admires her greatly for her ability to remain a virgin in these barbaric surroundings.
