Born on the 20 of Larane (Angbereluis), 685TR. He was the 4th child and as such never got much attention. He ran away when he was 8 and worked in a neighboring farm. His parents did not interfere with his choice; and he doubts they even missed him. He has Blue eyes and Brown hair with a Medium complexion. He is Ugly. He stands 58 inches tall with a average frame. He weighs 158lbs.

He seeks military power, wanting to rise as high in the ranks as possible. He believes by seeing Solonan promoted it will improve his chance of becoming a Legatus's aide. However, he believes if it is done in a smart way he will have to work less for the result. This attitude makes him seem like a hard worker for while he always says "work smarter, not harder" he is always at work at some scheme to get him promoted or make him rich.

Gombard was born in a dirty jail cell two days before his mother's execution and raised by his sister, Alana, during a terrible famine in northern Tharda. Gombard's only other family is a sister, Anabel, with whom he does not get along with at all.

He likes to wear a shiney breastplate made from copper given to him by his father before he died in the famine. This, with his green cloak, cuts him as a dashing figure. He carries both items, prefering to trust to legion-issue when going into battle. When he goes out for a meal and will always order smoked fish, his favourite. He will wash that down with some dark ale to make the night complete. He absolutely adores horses but is greatly annoyed by nobility and refuses to grow up.

He would like to become rich and one day wants to run his own Inn. Gombard's ideal mate would be somebody who understands his desire to get rich without spending all of his money. He absolutely detest religious fanatics.
