Born on the 13th of Azura, 682TR (Hirin), to a family of 3, his father disappeared while in legion service in Ramala. His wife, Thania, always expected him to return and so never remarried. His two older siblings (Trubern and Xerphuter) both died in legion service. Solonan got out of the Regulars as early as he could, and has since become on of Gerium legion's best skirmishers. His mother now lives with her sister in Onrein, and he visits her often.

His childhood was average for that of a farmer's cousin. He found work early as a labourer and, like his brothers, joined the legion as a volunteer when he came of age. His work before the legion and later still pays to keep his mother comfortable, and his aunts house well stocked.

He stands 5'8" tall and weighs 200lbs in a heavy frame. He has dirty blond hair and green eyes. His rugged good looks are mared by a scar on his right cheek that pulls his mouth into a perpetual sneer. He speaks in a soft voice and he works hard to maintain a commanding presence amoung his men.

His reputation in the Gerium legion is one of impossible missions and great heroic battles in times of peace. To his mother he's a good legionnaire, to everyone else he's a true killing officer. He always sees to the care and comfort of his men before looking to his own needs.

Other than a standard legionnaire's pack, he has a small purse of coins (taken off Rethemi raiders), and one or two pieces of jewlery (20d each). He also has: a medium a leather bedroll, a tinderbox 2 1.0 lbs., 4 candle(s) tallow 0.3 lbs.,and 15' of good hemp rope. He carries no extra clothing, and sleeps in his padding and boots in bad weather and just his padding in good weather. He has a small leather bound book in which he keeps his hand drawn maps, reports and other notes of interest to him. It is written backwards in lakise.
