CLOTHING & ARMOUR
Knee Boots (Leather , Weight: 3.8) Hauberk (Ring, Weight: 32.5)

Born in 639, his parents died of illness within that first year. He was adopted in Kubben by the bailiff of the local holding. Asadir and Melitha raised him as their own until he was 8. He was then adopted by the Equestrian family of Verimot.  At the age of 16 he joined the legion as a Manus. He retired six years later without rising in rank. He vocally blamed his adopted parents for holding him back. Since his retirement, he often hires himself out as a personal bodyguard and confidential messenger. He gained membership in the lia-kavir when he was 26 through organizing an assassination that went flawlessly. He claims to be a close friend with Koral of Geldryss, guildmaster of the Coranani Chapter.

Howard is eloquent and graceful. He is equally at home in an alleyway as in a court. He has several friends who either work in, or close to the Senate; and is really quite an influential guy. Currently he is trying hard to become the best friend ofVurnt of Masane. His associates may be of any class and he often tells other Equestrians that he deals with the lower classes to help them better themselves. In truth he is not so good - he associates with them to use them as tools. Should they become broken, or unusable, he simply discards them and acquires new tools. He has little (if anything) to do with either of his foster families.

The Rutgas clan does not exist. He is a bastard son of a bastard son. He has enemies, but Sir Howard is careful enough to make sure they do not live very long. Sir Howard is cunning and crafty. He got his title the old fashioned way – he bought it outright.

Driven, skilled and determined, Howard is not a man to be dealt with casually. He is able to lie as easily as most men breath. He is very comfortable as an Equestrian, and will do anything in his power to remain so. He has, on occasion, performed acts of blackmail and robbery to keep himself in the lifestyle of his choosing.

He believes himself safe from Naveh’s grasp so long as he keeps placing people between himself and the religion. So he finds sacrifices, and wealth to give to the church. He believes he understands Naveh better than most, because he is as cunning and driven as Naveh without the worry of personal honor. So long as Howard appears just and proper, everything is fine.

Rutgar Howard (Howard of Rutgus) as a thinking villain. (The exact opposite of what he played in Merlin, but equally ruthless.)

Howard wears the finest in legionnaire attire. His black boots are laced up the front, and always spit-polished. His pants are a soft leather, well worn but still fashionable. His belt is unadorned (because, he says, he doesn't want to show off.) His tunics are always of the finest cloth, over which he wears a chain tunic, or leather vest. His gauntlets are leather with metal strips along the fingers. His rich brown hair falls to his shoulders in gentle curls. His brown eyes are soft, and warm (when he thinks you're looking, and hard and dark when you're not.) His face and appearance is nothing special - but he has a smile that lights up his whole face, and a great booming laugh. He is very fit, and well tanned.

His tabard bears a bizarre heraldic symbol similar to that of the Vermiot (a clan that died around 699TR with the death of its last living member – a solider, so the story goes.) He sometimes wears a richly adorned tunic and hoes in the most fashionable colors, but there is always a long sword at his hip, and leather gloves tucked in his belt. He likes to appear rich, so his clothes are always perfectly mended, and his armor shinny.
